ASMAR RESIDENCE

This beautiful 4,075 sf home valued at approximately $1.1M, sits on a 3.11 acre lot and is located on the top of a mountain in the heart of Rancho San Diego with a perfect 17 degree tilt and 180 degree azimuth. The Client had an average electric bill of $500 per month with a total of 19.82mWh used during a 12 month period. Design Build Electric (DBE) designed and installed an 11.55kW DC-STC solar system consisting of a single 11kW SMA Transformerless inverter and 42 Solarworld 275W DC-STC solar modules. Quickmount PV Universal Tile Mount was used along with Unirac racking to attach the solar modules to the concrete flat tile roof. The use of the Solarworld modules with the SMA inverter allowed DBE to string the system such that the DC voltage would be just under 600V at extreme cold temperatures. This means that the system will turn on early in the morning and turn off late in the afternoon for a maximum amount of production throughout the day. Mr. Asmar has been seeing an average bill of -$100 per month since the system was energized back in February, 2014. This means that the meter on this residence has been running backwards!

ALAGIA RESIDENCE

This beautiful 3,253 sf home valued at approximately $1M, sits on a 0.9 acre lot and is located on the top of a mountain in the heart of Poway, California. With a roof pitch of 17 degrees and an azimuth of 232 degrees, DBE proposed the use of a Power-One transformerless inverter which has an adjustable startup voltage that can be adjusted down in order to allow the system to be energized earlier and de-energized later in the afternoon for maximum amount of production throughout the day. Design Build Electric (DBE) designed and installed a 5.5kW DC-STC solar system consisting of a single 5kW Power-One Transformerless inverter and 20 Solarworld 275W DC-STC solar modules. Quickmount PV Universal Tile Mount was used along with Everest racking to attach the solar modules to the concrete flat tile roof.
